Notes For Net  is a Chrome extension for bookmarking and taking notes on webpages, organized into subject tabs, with

one-click links and exact-position anchors. This policy explains what the Extension does, and does not do, with your information.

 

Your notes and bookmarks stay on your own device. We do not run analytics, we do not track your browsing, and we never send your notes or browsing history to us or anyone else. The only time information leaves your device is if you choose to purchase the paid version, which is handled by our payment provider, Stripe Financial Services.

 

1. Information the Extension stores

 

All of the following is stored locally in your browser on your device. It is not transmitted to us and is not saved on our servers:

 

- Notes you create, the heading and body text you type, the URL of the page a note is attached to, and the date it was created.

- Subject tabs, the names of the tabs/folders you create to organize notes.

- Position anchors, when you use the "anchor" feature, we store the scroll position and a technical reference to the page element so the Extension can scroll you back to the exact spot. We do not store the text or content of the pages you visit.

- Layout and preferences, the order and grouping of your notes, expand/collapse states, and which subject tab is selected.

- Trial and license state, a timestamp marking when your free trial began, and related interface state.

 

This data remains on your device until you delete individual notes or uninstall the Extension.

 

2. Information we do NOT collect

 

- We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising, or crash/telemetry reporting.

- We do not collect, transmit, or store your browsing history, the content of the pages you visit, or your notes on any server we control.

- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

 

3. Payments (paid version)

 

If you choose to upgrade to the paid version, payment and license management are handled through Extension Pay (extensionpay.com), by Stripe Financial Services. To process your purchase and manage your subscription, Extension Pay collects your email address and payment details, and processes payment through its payment processor Stripe Financial Services. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. The Notes For Net Extension only checks with Extension Pay whether your account has an active paid status with Stripe Financial Services.

4. Permissions and why we request them

 

- Storage / unlimited storage, to save your notes, tabs, and settings locally, without a size cap on large note collections.

- Access to websites you visit and scripting, so the notes overlay can appear on any page you choose to annotate, read that page's URL to link a note to it and record a position anchor. This runs locally in your browser; no page data is sent anywhere.

- Access to extensionpay.com, is required so Extension Pay can confirm when a payment is completed through Stripe Financial Services.

 

5. Data retention and deletion

 

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it:

 

- Delete individual notes or subject tabs from within the Extension at any time.

- Uninstalling the Extension removes all of its locally stored data from your browser.

6. Children's privacy

 

The Extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

 

7. Your rights

 

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because we do not hold your notes or browsing data on our servers, most of your data is directly

controllable by you on your device. For payment-related data, direct requests to Stripe Financial Services. For any other questions, contact us using the details below.

 

8. Changes to this policy

 

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and posting the revised policy at this URL.
